Breathing Space have been involved in delivering virtual sessions to participants about the mental health support available from Breathing Space and other services.
Lisa-Jane Dock, Breathing Space National Development Officer, explained further:
"We are adapting to these changing times by working in partnership with organisations so that we can deliver information about Breathing Space and other mental health services remotely. For instance, our recent work with Genetic Alliance UK, meant we could deliver a remote session to members, which encouraged lots of useful discussions around self-care for participants.
Another example is working with Touch Base Companions, an organisation which supports those shielding. I was able to speak to volunteers by video-link about the support offered by Breathing Space and how best to signpost when speaking to companions.
There are lots of opportunities in the virtual world to support mental health while we are navigating our way through this challenging time. I would encourage workplaces looking for ways to support their staff or enhance their mental wellbeing programmes, to get in touch."
