Anorexia and Bulimia Care (ABC) is a national UK eating disorders organisation with over 30 years of experience.
Their Befriending Service provides personal support by linking people who are struggling with an eating disorder with those who are recovered.
Volunteer Befrienders provide a weekly telephone call for approximately 6 months in order that a supportive relationship can be formed. The Befriending Service is designed to try and reduce feelings of isolation, to offer hope and to encourage people as they work on their recovery. It is really helpful to be able to speak to someone who knows what the road to recovery can be like.
